Availability

WhatsApp is generally available for all Lumika workspaces.

  • Connect any WhatsApp Business phone number that you manage in Meta Business Suite.
  • Lumika deactivates duplicate numbers across workspaces automatically to prevent conflicts.
  • Use Dashboard → Accounts to view status, sync tokens, or remove integrations at any time.

Prerequisites

Gather these before you open the setup modal.

  • Access to your Meta app in developers.facebook.com with WhatsApp product enabled.
  • A WhatsApp Embedded Signup configuration ID in Meta (Facebook Login for Business).
  • Embedded Signup config permissions include whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management.
  • Backend env values set: META_APP_ID and META_WHATSAPP_EMBEDDED_SIGNUP_CONFIG_ID.
  • At least one Lumika responder assistant ready to attach, or plan to create one during setup.

Get connected step by step

Prepare Meta app once

  • Open Meta for Developers → Apps and choose your app with WhatsApp enabled.
  • Create or update an Embedded Signup config in Facebook Login for Business and copy the config ID.
  • Confirm your app has the required WhatsApp permissions and webhook callback configured.

Connect inside Lumika

  • Navigate to Dashboard → Accounts → Add Account → WhatsApp.
  • Click Connect WhatsApp and complete the Meta popup flow.
  • Lumika exchanges the authorization code, resolves WABA/phone details, subscribes webhook ownership, and disables duplicates in other workspaces.

Assign assistants and test

  • Link an existing responder assistant or create a new one from the Accounts page.
  • Send a test message from WhatsApp to verify that Lumika ingests the thread and that automations fire as expected.
  • Toggle Auto respond / Manual approval mode per account to match your escalation policy.
